We are thrilled to have received such an overwhelming response to our Second International Digital Salon from talented photographers from all around the world.
We received a total of 4522 images entered from 370 photographers from 43 countries. We are truly honoured by their participation and the exceptional quality of the submissions.
Our esteemed panel of international judges faced the challenging task of choosing the best entries. The judging process was carried out remotely using Zoom, with separate Jury Panels for the Open Colour, Open Mono, Nature, Landscape, Creative and Photo Travel Sections. It was not an easy process, as there were countless outstanding images that deserved recognition. We regretfully had to leave behind many exceptional photographs, but we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all those who received awards and acceptances.
We would like to give a special thanks to all those who entered their very first international exhibition and achieved their first acceptance or, even better, won awards. Your dedication and talent are truly commendable.
We would also like to express our gratitude to all the individuals who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this exhibition possible. In particular, we are immensely thankful for the support provided by our international judges and MyPhotoClub, particularly Colin Woods, who helped us navigate the digital landscape swiftly and smoothly.
As many of you may know, the Edinburgh Photographic Society has a rich history, running one of the oldest Print Salons in the world since 1861. Following the success of our First International Digital Salon in 2021 and our 159th International Print Salon in 2023, we embarked on our Second International Digital Salon in June 2023 and we are incredibly grateful to MyPhotoClub and our esteemed patrons and sponsors viz. PSA, FIAP, GPU, PAGB and SPF for supporting us in this endeavour.
We aim to showcase this exhibition to a larger audience towards the end of the year and during the Edinburgh Hogmanay Festival and we look forward to running our 160th Print Salon and our Third International Digital Salon in 2024.
We hope to reunite with our international photography community next year and to continue the tradition of showcasing extraordinary talent in the wonderful world of photography.
Once again, we extend our sincerest appreciation and thanks to all the Salon participants, patrons, judges and supporters and sincerely hope that you enjoy browsing through the Catalogue.
